Meet Dr. Ron Wines. Uniquely qualified to provide outstanding dental care, Dr. Wines is a consummate professional who enjoys helping his patients achieve good oral health and a lifetime of beautiful smiles. Since opening his practice, he has focused on general dentistry and full-mouth restorations.
Dr. Wines possesses a wealth of dental knowledge and expertise. A native of Kokomo, Dr. Wines completed his undergraduate work in German and History at Indiana University in Bloomington. While doing practice teaching in Marion, IN, he had a dental experience that sparked an interest in dentistry.
Dr. Wines graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1972 and spent the next two years providing dental care to underprivileged children in Southern Illinois for the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of Dental Health, as part of a mobile outreach program. After visiting friends in Hendricks County, Dr. Wines and his wife Shelby decided that Plainfield was a beautiful town to raise their sons. He opened his office there in 1974.
Dr. Wines has studied dental aesthetics under internationally known Dr. Larry Rosenthal of New York, and Dr. Bill Dickerson of the Las Vegas Institute. Dr. Wines keeps his skills up to date through challenging continuing education courses. He has completed courses at the world-class Misch International Implant Institute for implant training; the renowned Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, where he studied full-mouth restoration techniques; Geneva Dental, where he received training on their Geneva 2000ä custom dentures; the prestigious Nash Institute for Dental Learning, where he studied esthetics techniques under the respected Dr. Ross Nash and Dr. Rob Lowe; and the highly esteemed Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education.
Family life is paramount to Dr. Wines. He has been married to Shelby for over 40 years. The couple has two children, Jim and Heath, and three grandchildren, for whom Dr. Wines regularly acts as 'soccer grandpa.' When he's not busy perfecting smiles or spending time with his family, Dr. Wines enjoys exploring early American history and is especially interested in the Colonial and Revolutionary War period.
